It accommodates up to 48 × 0.2 mL PCR tubes, twelve 0.5 mL tubes, or a single 48-well microplate and provides a temperature range of 0–99.9°C with ramp rates up to 2.5°C per second. The system features thermal gradient capability from 35–99°C with up to a 16°C differential, allowing multiple annealing temperatures to be evaluated during a single run. It also features an adjustable Hot Bonnet heated lid, a backlit LCD interface, storage for approximately 400 programs, and selectable calculated sample or block temperature control. The MJ Mini can also be upgraded for real-time PCR operation with the Bio-Rad MiniOpticon real-time detector.
