Vintage 1960s Arch Crown Silver Plastic String Jewelry Tags - Original Newark NJ Box

Original 1960s Arch Crown jewelry price tag box from the Newark factory. Arch Crown was established in 1907 as a manufacturer of paper and plastic tags.

The box:

Manufactured by ARCH CROWN, 277 Halsey St, Newark, N.J. 07102 - the old Newark plant before they moved to Hillside, NJ. 5-digit ZIP dates it to post-1963. Reseller label: VF VALLEY FINDINGS, 1421 Coffee Rd, Modesto, CA.

What it says on the lid:

"MOISTURE PROOF IN ALL COLORS - These improved double-coated PLASTIC scribable tags, non-curling, non-brittle, can be marked with the stylus and fastened with the hollow end. Pen and ink used with plain white, frosted and pastel colored tags. DO NOT PUT INK BOTTLE IN BOX"

This is the transitional "improved" plastic tag that replaced the older parchment tags in the 1960s.

Tags inside:

Silver (light grey) double-coated plastic string tags with hollow-end fasteners + a small batch of black. ∼300+ pcs in box. New old stock - never used, just stored open. Used for rings, necklaces, bracelets - lets customers try on without removing tag, writable with pen / marker.

Year: c.1965-1972

Condition: Box open, age wear, staining and tape on lid, tags clean.
