These smudge pot fire pit CNC cut files for plasma make a great project!
NOW INCLUDED! - Snuffer (guillotine, as some call it) files for killing the fire at the base of the flue, as well as flanges for the flue and return tube to bolt on for easy cleaning and maintenance of the base.
UPDATED FILE - The V2 includes two dampers and flanges to dial in the heat in the base!
What a great way to enjoy your chilly evenings with your friends and family! You can burn waste oil, kerosene and diesel fuel (not gasoline!!) in this smudge pot. Once the fire in the box gets to burning good and hot, there is virtually no smoke from the flue pipe during the burn. Once you kill the fire with the damper, the fire will stop and it will smoke some out of the stack; however, using kerosene and diesel fuel, the smoke will not be nearly as bad. This is a great alternative to a wood burning fire, as there are no sparks or smoke emitted, only flame and heat, and it is extremely easy to kill the fire when you are ready to, unlike an open wood burning fire pit.
The best part about these? You don't have to have a truck bed full of wood for the weekend camping!

This sale is for an Digital File for you to cut your own smudge pot out of steel or stainless steel. It is recommended to use 16 gauge or thicker material as this will burn hot and a thicker material will reduce likelihood of warping. This file has been used to cut literally hundreds of smudge pots with 16-gauge steel that allows for quick heat up and ignition, and no major issues with warping!
This Digital File INCLUDES relief cuts for bending to allow you to easily bend all lines without the need for a sheet metal brake or other means of bending. You can do the bending by hand! This has been tested with 16-gauge steel with no issues. The feet will require a little more effort to bend but can still easily be done on a table with clamps or a vise would work well.
The Digital File will come with the base, flue pipe, and feet nested together. When nested together, these files take up approximately 41” by 95” of a sheet of metal. The damper and handle brackets are also nested within the file. Flanges are in a separate file incase you do not want to do the flanged design. The Digital Files will include additional information for your use in building the smudge pot!
If you do not have a method for bending the tubing, you may use other methods for the return tube, such as building a sheet metal return tube, iron pipe and fittings from your local big box store, etc. If you would like to use tubing and do not have access to a tubing bender, please contact me and I can ship you the bent tubes for this design or any size/design that you need.
There is NO artwork included on the file; however, if you need a custom design, please contact me and I can create a custom file. Also, if you need a different size smudge pot, I can create a new product for you.

WARNING - Safety Guidelines Intended for Smudge Pot Use:- Fire pits and smudge pots involve open flames. You are responsible to exercise caution for the fire, and be aware of your surroundings, including people, structures, etc.- Do not place smudge pots on wood, grass, etc. that is capable of burning. Smudge pots can overflow onto the placement area causing fire. Only place smudge pots on level ground on surfaces that can withstand flame and heat, that are non-combustible.- Children need to stand clear from the fire, a minimum of 10-feet away.- Always have a fire extinguisher within reach incase of emergencies. Buckets of sand is also suggested to keep at close proximity to help put out the fire.- Regulatory: Not all states, campgrounds, parks, etc. allow smudge pots or fire pits. It is your responsibility to know the rules of which you intend to have the fire, and aoffere by them. You must comply with all National, State, and Local Laws/Regulations regarding fire pit and smudge pot use, especially that of burn bans and restrictions of fire.
