This S018654 configuration is the Bluetooth-equipped version of AFL's CT60 platform. Over Bluetooth 5.2, the S018654 cleaver pairs directly with compatible Fujikura fusion splicers and with AFL's Splice+ smartphone app, pushing blade position, cleave count and maintenance status to the splicer or a technician's phone instead of a separate paper log. Holder compatibility spans AFL's FH-50, FH-60, FH-70, FH-100 and FH-110 series, so a shop's existing holder inventory carries over as cable and ribbon counts change on the job. The CT60 is AFL's current-generation replacement for the CT50 fiber cleaver.
Key Benefits at a Glance:
- Bluetooth 5.2 pairing with the Splice+ app for automatic blade usage and maintenance tracking
- Compatible with AFL's FH-50, FH-60, FH-70, FH-100 and FH-110 fiber holder series
- Average cleave angles of 0.3° to 0.9° on single fibers and 0.3° to 1.2° on ribbon
- Optional AD-60B adapter plate extends coating capacity to 3 mm for larger buffered fibers
- Manual rotation dial available as a backup to motorized blade advance
- Field-replaceable clamp arm in addition to the field-replaceable blade
- 1/4-20 UNC threaded mount for stable bench or tripod use
Why Choose the AFL S018654 Fujikura CT60 Fiber Cleaver?
Smart Blade Management, Field-Proven Reliability
Active Blade Management Technology tracks cleave count and quality and advances the blade through its 28 positions on its own, so technicians aren't guessing when a blade needs to move or be replaced. Paired with Bluetooth 5.2 reporting to compatible Fujikura splicers and the Splice+ app, the CT60 keeps a running maintenance record that travels with the tool instead of a technician's notebook.
28-position blade rotation managed automatically by cleave count and cleave quality, not a fixed schedule
Ribbon and paired-fiber cleaves run through the same automated blade logic as single-fiber cleaves, so crews don't trade cleave-angle precision for cleaving speed
Toggle-button arm control lets technicians reposition the cleaving arm one-handed without repositioning the whole tool inside a cramped splice closure or aerial bucket
Splice+ compatibility (Apple App Store and Google Play) extends blade and maintenance tracking to a technician's phone
Precision Cleave Performance
Cleave geometry is built around a nominal 125 µm cladding diameter, with cleave length ranges set by which plate or holder is installed.
AD-60A plate: 5-20 mm cleave length at coatings up to 250 µm, 10-20 mm at 900 µm
AD-60B plate (sold separately): 14-20 mm cleave length at coatings up to 3 mm
Fiber holder mounted: approximately 10 mm cleave length
Field-Ready Durability
At approximately 113 mm (W) x 92 mm (D) x 54 mm (H) and about 293 g with battery and the AD-60A plate installed, the CT60 stays pouch-portable without giving up the motorized mechanism. It's rated to operate from -10°C to 50°C and to survive storage from -40°C to 80°C, with humidity tolerance up to 95% RH non-condensing in both states, and runs on two AAA (LR03) batteries so a dead cell doesn't mean a trip back to the truck for a charger.
Easy Field Maintenance
If Bluetooth pairing isn't available on a given job, the manual rotation dial steps the blade through its 28 positions by hand. Both the blade and the clamp arm are user-replaceable in the field, so a worn part doesn't take the cleaver out of service for a shop visit.
