Replace aging and unreliable 5.25-inch floppy disks with a compact SD-card-based storage solution for your Apple II.

This open-source hardware emulator is built around the STM32F411 microcontroller and emulates an Apple Disk II floppy drive. It allows compatible Apple II computers to load and run supported disk images directly from an SD card.

Important Compatibility Information

Designed primarily for:

Apple II
Apple II Plus
Apple IIe
Apple II clones using a compatible Disk II interface

A compatible Apple Disk II controller card or interface is required and is not included.

Compatibility with the Apple IIc is not guaranteed. The Apple IIc uses a different external drive connector and may require a suitable adapter. We have not verified operation with the Apple IIc, so we do not recommend purchasing this product solely for Apple IIc use.

How It Works

Copy compatible disk-image files to an SD card, insert the card into the emulator, connect the emulator to a compatible Disk II controller or interface, and use the OLED display and buttons to select an image.
