Each knob goes through a magnetic particle test after heat treatingto prevent crack line’s and after this testing procedure, each knob will be precision ground on all critical contact surfaces, including the pilot underneaththe flange area. The pilot will ensure the retention knob body makes a better contact with the tool holder next to the threads which will reduce the vibrationand minimize TIR on the overall system (tools holder + retention knob).
